Abstract

1,262,189. Inking apparatus. ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP. 11 July, 1969 [3 April, 1969], No. 35146/69. Heading B6C. Ink is applied to fountain roller 34 through a slit in a flexible-walled package P, and as the quantity of ink adjacent the roller diminishes feeler 30, which is in contact with flexible wall 64, operates a switch MS, causing cam 24 to rotate, pressure-plate 16 and spring-plate 17 to move downward and ink to be squeezed from the rear of package P towards the roller 34. The package may be of a plastics material. When the package is replaced the upper part of the fountain, including plate 16, is swung on bushing 44 to an open position and a new package is clamped to anvil 36 by bar 40.
