Abstract

1,126,515. Rotary presses. TWINLOCK Ltd. 23 June, 1967 No. 29151/67. Heading B6C. A web 27 perforated along each edge and divided by transverse perforations into sheet areas is printed in a rotary press in which projections 22 carried by the impression cylinder 6 co-operate with depressions 23 formed in the plate cylinder 12 such that each defined sheet area is correctly registered for printing by the projections 22 passing through the edge perforations of the web when engaging the plate cylinder depressions 23. The press is motor driven through gearing, the plate cylinder 12, which carries a stereo, being slidable relative to an inking roller 14 and the impression cylinder through the actuation of knurled screws 20. A ductor roller 15 rotatable in an ink bath 16 is similarly slidable relative to the inking roller. The ink in the bath 16 is maintained at constant level through the provision of a closed ink container 25 having a supply tube 26 extending downwardly into the bath 16. Superimposed webs may be fed through the machine, imprints being only applied to the upper web.
