[Class 35] [See also Group XIV] The blade 4 of a safety razor is reciprocated by a swinging rod 5, 6 suspended on a disc 13 inside the coil 7 of an electromagnet using alternating current, the rod extending to the space between the poles of a permanent magnet 11. The rod carries a sleeve 22, a knob 23 on which is pressed into engagement with a central hole in the blade by a spring 21. A rubber buffer is mounted in grooves 18 on the stem 6.
