Abstract

431,033. Reciprocating motors. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Jan. 8, 1935, No. 671. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1934. [Class 35] Massage appliances, files, drills, erasers &c., are reciprocated by an electric motor comprising a magnetic core 2 of substantially hair pin shape disposed within a casing 1 preferably constituting a handle, a coil 5 connected to an alternating current or interrupted direct current supply being mounted on one limb of the core which is secured to the wall of the casing, the other limb which carries the driven device 6 being free to oscillate. The fixed limb is held by rivets passing through spacers 3, 4 which are preferably of insulating material. The oscillating limb is bent towards the fixed limb so that its free end coincides with the longitudinal axis of the handle. The handle is preferably of insulating material, for example, a thermo-plastic substance and the coil 5 may be embedded in insulation.
