In this scenario, identifying the factors which influencing for online purchase intention would open the screen for various decision making for both customers and online retailers. Hence this study was conducted for analysing internet related factors towards online purchase intention with respect to baby products buying among Chennai customers. In this regard, data were collected from 164 respondents, through survey method, by using structured questionnaire by adopting purposive sampling method. Collected data were analysed and results revealed two new factors such as web-design and trust factors which influencing online purchase intention of baby products buying. This study also revealed that, web-design factor played major role and followed by trust factor.

Four experiments were conducted to test whether peak-end rule replicates in the web environment. The current enjoyment tool (CET) was developed to capture real-time enjoyment ratings. Experiment 1 mainly tested the effect of the task order- and the tool on retrospective assessments. The results showed that the tool did not influence participants? judgments. Using the number of links to determine task difficulty was not found to be a very effective measure of enjoyment. Experiment 2 further tested the peak-end rule using a free-browsing style. The results showed that peak and end enjoyment moments were relatively low predictors of retrospective assessment, compared with the combination of a wider range of moments. The E2 results also demonstrated that duration did not correlate with either the real-time enjoyment moments or retrospective assessment of enjoyment. This paper presents the analysis of the evolution of public websites in the Republic of Bolivia. It shows the changes observed in the design and implementation of 34 private and government websites, how these changes have taken place and how design and usability factors where influenced when implementing this changes. The study puts in evidence the changes in website designing, from simple low-structured content to complex structured content. The article shows also the absence of elicited good practice guides for websites designing and development in Bolivia, although it reports the improvement in Bolivian web design and tries to identify the leading factors of these results. Despite of the relative low developed Internet capacity in Bolivia, the technical level of web developing is near to the observed in more developed countries, but usually without taking care of accessibility and usability issues.

Web usability is a significant factor in increasing user satisfaction, performance, trust, and loyalty. Web usability is particularly important for people who mostly depend on the website and for one reason or other cannot visit an institution, such as online distance education students. Accordingly, universities and educational websites need to determine the types of usability problems they have on their websites. However, far too little attention has been paid to providing detailed information regarding the types of specific usability problems that could be found on e-learning websites in general, and specifically, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The aim of this paper is to study and analyse the usability of university websites that offer distance education courses in the KSA. A total of 12 universities in Saudi Arabia were considered, which include 11 affiliated and one private university. The analysis of the data represents the level of usability of distance education websites. Results reveal that in Saudi Arabia, distance education websites are reliable, but violate basic usability guidelines.

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the e-service quality dimensions and customer satisfaction of banks in Jordan. Using a structured questionnaire, the primary data was collected from 457 customers who had e-banking transactions with banks in Jordan. Multiple regression analysis was employed to test the research model and hypotheses. The research findings indicate that e-service quality dimensions such as website attributes, reliability, perceived risk, responsiveness and customisation have a positive and significant effect on the banks overall customers' satisfaction and its elements individually. The findings also indicate that the strongest predictors, based on beta values, of e-service quality dimensions on the overall banks customers' satisfaction and its individual elements are responsiveness, website attributes and customisation, respectively. Research results, conclusions, practical recommendations, contributions to e-service quality research and future research opportunities are also discussed.

The World Wide Web doubles in size roughly every 2-3 months and dramatic claims are made about the effectiveness of Web-based commercial efforts. The centrality of non-price mechanisms of differentiation to the perception, enjoyment and ease of use felt using websites is acknowledged but the only statistically rigorous studies of factors such as form and content have been conducted within a universalist paradigm of aesthetics. This paper reports on an interactionist approach to web aesthetics involving an analysis of 60 maleand female-produced websites. The analysis reveals statistically significant differences between the male-and female-produced websites on 13 out of the 23 factors analysed. These differences span issues of navigation as well as linguistic and visual content. The paper argues that the appeal of websites can be maximised if they mirror the needs and interests of their target populations and that websites targeted at male or female dominated markets need to reflect the aesthetic diversity found in the male-and femaleproduced websites analysed here. It also presents information on the demographics of the IT profession, showing that there is a potential imbalance between the percentage of women involved online and those involved in the IT profession. This suggests that the male domination of the IT profession could be a barrier to the effective mirroring of female Website preferences.

This study examines the implications of a gendered website production and preference aesthetic for the teaching of computer studies. Where the website production aesthetic is concerned, it finds evidence of statistically significant differences on 13 of the 23 factors against which sixty student websites were rated. These results were suggestive of a website aesthetic continuum with male and female production aesthetic tendencies at either end. The preference tests, conducted with 67 subjects, revealed preferences to be in tune with production aesthetics such that men had a statistically significant tendency to prefer home pages produced by men, and women those produced by women. One of the challenges today in human-computer interaction is to design systems that are not only usable but also appealing to users. In order to contribute to meet this challenge, our general objective in the present study was to enhance current understanding of the perceptual features that favour users' interactions with Websites. This is a particularly important issue, as users' first impressions when they land on a site determine whether or not they stay on it. We conducted two experimental studies, focusing on one specific perceptual feature: Website colour. The first study investigated designers' and users' preferred colours for a Web homepage. Although researchers generally flag up differences between designers and users, we found that the latter also had several favourite colours in common. On the basis of these initial results, three colours were selected for a second study exploring colour in relation to an entire Website. The main originality of this second study lays in the fact that we used both subjective and objective measurements to gauge the impact of colour, analyzing not only users' judgments but also their Website navigation and the items of information they memorized. Results of this second study showed that colours were a determining factor in the way that users interacted with the Website. Their influence was also observed afterwards, when users were asked to exploit the information they had gleaned from the Website. As such, these findings will have a practical value for Website designers.

Colour has the potential to elicit emotions or behaviors, yet there is little research in which colour treatments in website design are systematically tested. Little is known about how colour affects trust or satisfaction on the part of the viewer. Although the Internet is increasingly global, few systematic studies have been undertaken in which the impact of colour on culturally diverse viewers is investigated in website design. In this research three website colour treatments are tested across three culturally distinct viewer groups for their impact on user trust, satisfaction, and e-loyalty. To gather data, a rich multi-method approach is used including eye-tracking, a survey, and interviews. Results reveal that website colour appeal is a significant determinant for website trust and satisfaction with differences noted across cultures. The findings have practical value for web marketers and interface designers concerning effective colour use in website development.

The quality of governmental websites is often measured with questionnaires that ask users for their opinions on various aspects of the website. This article presents the Website Evaluation Questionnaire (WEQ), which was specifically designed for the evaluation of governmental websites. The multidimensional structure of the WEQ was tested in a controlled laboratory setting and in an online real-life setting. In two studies we analyzed the underlying factor structure, the stability and reliability of this structure, and the sensitivity of the WEQ to quality differences between websites. The WEQ proved to be a valid and reliable instrument with seven clearly distinct dimensions. In the online setting higher correlations were found between the seven dimensions than in the laboratory setting, and the WEQ was less sensitive to differences between websites. Two possible explanations for this result are the divergent activities of online users on the website and the less attentive way in which these users filled out the questionnaire. We advise to relate online survey evaluations more strongly to the actual behavior of website users, for example, by including server log data in the analysis.

Pop-up, pop-under, and in-line ads have been said to be intrusive, and previous findings suggest that they could have important effects on user perception and cognition. Using a 2x2 factorial design, this experimental study examines the effects of those ads. Besides a control group without ads, factors included ad placement (pop-up vs inline) and ad congruence (with the site's content or not). Results indicated that intention to return was impaired by ads; retention of website information was higher when ads were inline or when ads were not congruent with website content; and retention of ad content was higher for inline ads and those that were not congruent to the content of the website. However, contrary to expectations, intentions to return were not affected by ad placement, retention of site content was not affected by the existence of ads, and intrusiveness of ads was not affected by ad congruence.

The growing number of studies in web semiotics has generated many questions in the literature regarding the way websites are created, the syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations on websites, interactivity's role in meaning-making and connections between user interface design and semiotic elements. Little has been said though on the types of signs that create a website interface and their role in creating a meaningful system that could guide a user's experience. Albeit there has been an attempt to discuss some sign aspects in the online environment, we believe the subject is far from being closed and that there is a stringent need of further theoretical and empirical investigation, in order to elucidate the status of signs in web interface design. Building on Charles Peirce's fundamental semiotic theory on signs and semiosis, the aim of this paper is to develop the concept of double digital signs on an online platform, more specifically on a website. Rather than being a new semiotic theory, our paper aims at sketching a more comprehensive view on the complexity of signs and meaning-making in the online environment, by interlacing fundamental semiotic theories with more recent contributions in web semiotics, in order to propose a model of double sign semiosis.

In this article, we review advances in online trust research based on an overarching framework, outlining the key insights learned so far. These insights include: online trust extends beyond privacy and security, is closely connected to website design, its formation is an ongoing process, and is heterogeneous across individuals and products. We propose several ideas for future research relating to multiple aspects of online research, such as the longitudinal component, multichannel element, global aspect, personalization and cross-disciplinary nature.
