Abstract
515,672. Spinning directly from slivers. CASABLANCAS, F. March 2, 1938, No. 6591. Void. Convention date, Aug, 12, 1937. [Classes 120 (it) and 120 (iii)] Cotton or other fibres are spun directly from slivers supported from cans'each containing two or more slivers, without being initially wound on to bdbbins; the slivers in each can need not be twisted together and may have a false or selfneutralising twist imparted thereto when they are delivered into the cans from the drawing frame. The spinning machine may be single or double sided and the cans may be rotated to facilitate withdrawal of the slivers. To facilitate attendance when the cans are arranged in double rows, the cans are mounted in groups of four on rotatable platforms which may be locked in position. As shown the slivers 6 pass from a can 5, over a roller 7 to a drawing mechanism 8, 14 and the spinning spindle 2.
