[Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii)] A combined drawing and roving frame for treating narrow laps, such, for example, as those produced on a sliver lap machine, comprises upper and lower sets of drafting-rollers C, G, such as are used in drawing - frames, operating on ribbon slivers a, b, which are condensed and drawn through funnels D, H by rollers E. J and delivered in the form of cylindrical slivers a<1>, b<1> to high draft roving frame rollers F, K at or about the level of the lower drafting rollers G the slivers being then twisted by two lines of spindles and wound on to bobbins.
