Abstract

404,915. Twisting and doubling apparatus imparting two twists per revolution. SOC. ITALIANA PIRELLI, 21, Via Fabio Filzi, Milan, Italy. Oct. 25, 1933, No. 29577. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1932. [Class 120 (ii).] Apparatus for twisting and doubling cotton and like rovings, slivers, yarns, strands, cables and like filamentary material comprises a number of double-twist devices 4, which effect the primary twisting of the components, carried by the stationary frame 14, 15, 18 of a double-twist device which effects the final twisting and doubling. The apparatus is mounted on a rotary spindle 1 which drives the spindles 5 of the devices 4 by gears 20, 19, and the conical bobbins, cops or cheeses 6 are held in stationary frames 10, the yarns &c. passing therefrom through freely mounted flyers 8 on the frames, through guides 26 on discs 7 carried by the rotary spindles 5, through the spindles 5 to a doubling eye 33, and thence through a freely mounted flyer 22, through guides 30 on a disc 21 carried by the rotary spindle 1 and through the spindle to a delivery roller 36. Guard rings 37, 38 prevent entanglement of the yarn balloons.
