[Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii).] . A sliver condenser for drawing, roving, gill spinning, and high-draft spinning-frames for jute, hemp, and flax comprises a fixed conical member E with an external spiral groove a for guiding the sliver and imparting false twist thereto in a drafting-field which, as shown, is the second field of a high-draft spinning-frame for fine yarns of jute, hemp and flax.
