Abstract
373,363. Centrifugal spinning- machines, particularly those with drawing-rollers for staple fibre. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. April 22, 1931, No. 11930. Convention date, May 7, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] To facilitate starting in centrifugal spinning- machines, particularly those for roving suitable for drawing and provided with drawing-rollers, such as are used :for staple fibre, an auxiliary thread 6 from a supply bobbin 5 is passed through the guide funnel into the can 4 and led between the delivery rollers 2, so as to convey the thread or roving into the can, and is broken off when normal twisting is ensured. The supply bobbin 5 may be mounted on the machine or may be carried by the operative. Guides 8 may be mounted adjacent to the rollers which may be overhung and provided with stationary rounded ends 10 to facilitate the leading of the auxiliary thread, and, in order that the auxiliary thread may be easily found and removed in subsequent reeling, it may be suitably coloured.
