Abstract

948,444. Discharge of material from hoppers. C. E. HUTCHINSON. May 11, 1961 [Feb. 24, 1960], No. 6476/60. Heading B85. Powdered material from hopper 2 passes down shoot 1 and is discharged therefrom by rotating table 8 into receiving hopper 3. Table 8 is mounted eccentrically by bolts 7 upon disc 5 driven from shaft 18. The table and disc and gearing are mounted upon fixed rails 21. Shoot 1 is provided with fixed vanes 25 to provide a reaction for the discharge of the material over the edge of table 8. Additionally, shoot 1 is provided with a sleeve 28, the height of which is adjustable at 31. The vanes 25 may be replaced by a central cylinder or cone. In a second embodiment table 8 is provided with an eccentric aperture through which the discharge of material therefrom is made.
