Abstract

1442671 Discharging silos BUEHLER AG Gebr 12 July 1973 [18 July 1972 21 June 1973] 33377/73 Heading B8S A bottom plate 3 having a discharge opening 12 is mounted beneath the outlet 2 of a silo 1, is connected to a vibrator 5, and supports a vibrating funnel 8 having an outlet 16, means being provided to meter the discharge of material from the silo 1. As shown, the funnel 8 is connected to a nozzle 9 having an outlet 17, and the metering means comprises a screw conconveyer 13. The effect of the arrangement is to provide uniform discharge from the central and outer zones A, B of the silo. In a first modification (Fig. 2) the outlet of the nozzle is connected to a pipe (20) leading to a first metering device (22), and the outlet of the bottom plate is connected to a pipe (24) leading to a second metering device (25). In a second modification (Fig. 3), the nozzle 9 is omitted, a conical guide is positioned between the funnel and the bottom plate, and a conical baffle co-operates with the outlet of the funnel. In this modification, the outlet of the bottom plate communicates with a vibrating pipe (45) which includes an adjustable baffle (46).
