743,424. Delivering material from hoppers. KEIR & CAWDER, Ltd. April 30, 1954 [April 23, 1953], No. 11181/53. Class 78 (1). A device for the controlled discharge of material from a cylindrical hopper 4 comprises a rotary circular table 1, which rotates within a fixed cylindrical casing 2 having an outlet 3, and a fixed casing 5 of scroll volute form in plan which guides the material to the outlet. Fine adjustment of the quantity discharged is effected by a gate which is adjustable vertically by a screw in a frame 8 extending radially between the ends of the casing 5. Coarse adjustment is obtained by varying the distance between the bottom of the hopper and the table by turning the screws 14. A wall 3A extends across the table from one side of the outlet 3 to the corresponding side of the frame 8. A series of these devices containing different materials may be arranged to discharge into a single outlet. The relative proportions of the materials delivered are varied by driving the tables at different speeds.
