Abstract

1392879 Discharging hoppers TRANSITUBE TECHNIQUES MODERNS DANS LA MANUTENTION EN VRAC 26 June 1972 [29 June 1971] 29886/72 Heading B8S Particulate product in a container open at its lower end is discharged into a channel extending diametrically to the container and formed in a pedestal which closes off the open lower end of the container, by rotation of the container or a part thereof relative to the pedestal. In the figure, hopper 1 rotates in the direction of arrow A, and powder in the hopper falls (or is guided by the edges of the channel), into channel 4, from where it is discharged by helical screw 5. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown), a lower skirt attached to the hopper by a pneumatic or other seal rotates while the hopper itself is stationary.
