Abstract
424,515. Carding-engines for producing slub yarns. OPENSHAW, Ltd., W. A., and MORRIS, J. P. H., Hill Fold Mills, Astley Bridge, Bolton. Nov. 7, 1933, No. 30894. [Class 120 (i)] In carding-engines for producing slub yarns the doffer is provided with strips of card clothing 3 having narrow and broad sections a, b, Fig. 2, alternating with each other so that the threads 8 delivered by the condensing rubbers 7 are formed with slubs 8<a>, Fig. 3. The yarns are wound upon a roller 9 which serves as the supply for a spinning mule. The ends of the broad parts b are tapered evenly at b<1> so as to facilitate the subsequent twisting action on the yarn.
