Ellen's Sewing Passion

I like this a pattern so much that I had to make it over again! The first one  I made was in my favorite colour! I bought washed linen from Lithuania, but unfortunately I just got 0,70 meter, therefore I had to combine the fabric with white linen for the sleeves. I was lucky that I could manage to cut out all these pieces of the denim linen. I stitched all the parts for the front parts togheter. I also top stitched the seams. Then I stitched the back parts togehether. I had to stitch the lapels in place for the collar. Then I stitched the top collar and the facing in place. The sleeve, and the cuff are stitched together. I have used pattent buttons that I found on the web. The jacket are finishd and I'm supe happy with it! :) Patrones pattern magazine 05/2011

Sometimes you save a pattern for the right occasion,  or when you are up to try it, and this was the right moment. I bought 2 meter of the orange denim with stretch, and wantet to make a short jacket,  but since I had enough fabric to make a skirt as well, so I did! I can tell, there was not much scrap after I had cut all the pieces.. I started with stitching all the front parts together, and then the back parts. The shoulder- and the side seams are stitched. Then the collar and the facing are stitched in place. I stitched around the collar, and I also stitched in the seamline for the peplum,  so the facing should stay in place.  The cuffs are stitched to the sleve hem, and the sleeves are stitched in place.  I was wearing my new jacket for the first time in my friend's party!
