Ellen's Sewing Passion

Sometimes you save a pattern for the right occasion,  or when you are up to try it, and this was the right moment. I bought 2 meter of the orange denim with stretch, and wantet to make a short jacket,  but since I had enough fabric to make a skirt as well, so I did! I can tell, there was not much scrap after I had cut all the pieces.. I started with stitching all the front parts together, and then the back parts. The shoulder- and the side seams are stitched. Then the collar and the facing are stitched in place. I stitched around the collar, and I also stitched in the seamline for the peplum,  so the facing should stay in place.  The cuffs are stitched to the sleve hem, and the sleeves are stitched in place.  I was wearing my new jacket for the first time in my friend's party! This was my last task for the Origami course by Shingo Sato, and I had to make a jacket of the project! You can see how I made the  Reticular Origami Sleeve  if you like.  I decided to make a jacket with peplum. This is how the finished project looks like. I had to make another front- and a back-part, and another sleeve. I also made a double peplum from the waist. I made facing around the neck and the front. The peplum is made of double layer. I have used shoulder pads as well. I have used micro-satin as lining for the jacket. The jacket is finished and I have used a hook with a little "diament" at the waist.
