Vincenzo Cerami.
Slovenske divadlo /The Slovak Theatre
The text analyzes the distribution of three Slovak films created in 2017 (Piata loď (Little Harbour), Špina (Filthy), Nina to Slovak cinemas. This year new Slovak films reached 1,414,132 cinemagoers, which is a 21.13% share of total cinema admissions. This is the highest annual number recorded since the establishment of the Slovak Republic (1993). The study looks for an answer to the question, Why do some Slovak films achieve higher admissions then others? It also seeks to point out the variability of the criteria to measure the success of a film with the audience.

The authoress was intrigued by the book of a young theatre historian Karol Mišovic who, through the fates of the characters rendered on the stage of the Slovak National Theatre by its former first ladies guides the reader through the first stage of the modern history of Slovak theatre. He paints a panoramic picture of their professional theatre careers, based on the archive materials from the 1940s onwards. A vivid narration reveals the characters rendered by Mária Prechovská, Eva Kristinová, Viera Strnisková, Zdena Gruberová and Eva Poláková, the work of directors against the backdrop of a changing society and it poses a number of open questions regarding the role of the theatre during the breakthrough periods of Slovak society.

was an important female protagonist of the Italian Renaissance, often referred as the "Lady of the Renaissance", "Daughter of Humanism", "the First World Lady". This study aims to bring closer the ruler who influenced (especially Italian) history in diplomacy and politics, but was also a major figure in the collection of art and patronage of authors such as Titian, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello Sanzio and others. The study reflects the period context and at the same time looks at the importance of the Renaissance female intellectual through the prism of her personal and public correspondence available in the Italian state archives (Mantova, Ferrara, etc.), pointing to the growing importance and interest in digitized authentic materials.

A La Tène period logboat from Šamorín. In the article we present preliminary results of research of a logboat housed in the Žitný Ostrov Museum in Dunajská Streda. According to our research the boat comes from the 3 rd century or later part of the last third of 1 st millennium cal BCE. It is the earliest chronometrically dated vessel countrywide and the second specimen of Late Iron Age logboats known from Slovak and Czech Republics.
