即ち、本発明の多色表示材料組成物は、
内部に外部と連通し、下記移動性粒子が出入り可能である空隙構造を有し、屈折率の異なる2つ以上の領域が周期的に並べられた周期構造を持つと共に構造色を呈するフォトニクス結晶構造体からなる周期構造体と、
前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置し、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に配置することで前記周期構造体の構造色を変化させる体積平均粒径が1nm〜1μmの移動性粒子と、
を含むことを特徴としている。
一対の基板と、
前記一対の基板間に備える多色表示材料組成物であって、内部に外部と連通し、下記移動性粒子が出入り可能である空隙構造を有し、屈折率の異なる2つ以上の領域が周期的に並べられた周期構造を持つと共に構造色を呈するフォトニクス結晶構造体からなる周期構造体と、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置し、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に配置することで前記周期構造体の構造色を変化させる体積平均粒径が1nm〜1μmの移動性粒子と、を含む多色表示材料組成物と、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置させるための選択配置手段と、
を有することを特徴としている。
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に移動させる内部微粒子移動工程と、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の外部に移動させる外部微粒子移動工程と、
を有することを特徴としている。
体積平均粒径300nmの単分散シリカ微粒子(商品名:シーホスターKE−W30、(株)日本触媒)のエタノール懸濁液に平滑なシリコン基板を浸漬しディップコート法を用いて基板上に最密充填型コロイド結晶を作製した。なお、ここでは基板の引き上げ速度を0.8μm/sとし、コロイド結晶を厚さ10μmで作製した。得られた最密充填型コロイド結晶は構造色(青)を呈しており、走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)により表層を(1,1,1)面とした面心立方格子を形成していることが確認できた。
シリカナノ粒子(体積平均粒径5nm)を分散媒として水に分散したシリカナノ粒子含有溶液を調整した。当該溶液のシリカナノ粒子の濃度は10重量%とした。
酸化チタンナノ粒子(体積平均粒径5nm、スーパータイタニア、昭和電工(株))を分散媒として水に分散した酸化チタンナノ粒子含有溶液を調整した。当該溶液の酸化チタンナノ粒子の濃度は5重量%とした。
体積平均粒径300nmの単分散ポリスチレン微粒子(商品名:エスタポールES−K030、メルク)のエタノール懸濁液にITO基板を浸漬しディップコート法を用いて基板上に最密充填型コロイド結晶を作製した。なお、ここでは基板の引き上げ速度を0.5μm/sとし、コロイド結晶を厚さ10μmで作製した。得られた最密充填型コロイド結晶は構造色(緑)を呈しており、SEMにより表層を(1,1,1)面とした面心立方格子を形成していることが確認できた。
実施例4と同じ手法で得られたシリカ構造体を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして光学素子を作製した。
実施例4と同じ手法で得られたシリカ構造体を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様にして光学素子を作製した。
体積平均粒径400nmの単分散ポリスチレン微粒子(商品名:エスタポールES−K040、メルク)のエタノール懸濁液にITO基板を浸漬しディップコート法を用いて基板上に最密充填型コロイド結晶を作製した。なお、ここでは基板の引き上げ速度を遅く0.5μm/sとし、コロイド結晶を厚さ200μmと厚く作製した。得られた最密充填型コロイド結晶は構造色(赤)を呈しており、SEMにより表層を(1,1,1)面とした面心立方格子を形成していることが確認できた。
実施例4と同じ手法で得られたシリカ構造体が積層されたITOガラス基板電極と非処理のITOガラス基板電極を対向させ酸化チタンナノ粒子含有溶液を充填したのちに周りを封止した。この素子の最背面に黒色の基板を配した光学素子を作製した。
鋳型粒子を体積平均粒子径200nmのポリスチレン粒子(エスタポールES−K020、メルク)として実施例4と同様の手法で得られたシリカ構造体が積層されたITOガラス基板電極と非処理のITOガラス基板電極を対向させ酸化チタンナノ粒子含有溶液を充填したのちに周りを封止した。この素子の最背面に黒色の基板を配した光学素子を作製した。このときこの光学素子中のシリカ構造体の構造色は可視光領域を外れているため透明であり、背面の黒色が表現された状態であった。また、SEMにより観察したところ、ポリスチレンコロイド結晶構造体と同形状の空隙構造が形成された多孔質体で、全ての穴が繋がっていることが観察された。この空隙構造を構成する孔大きさは長径が200nm、空隙構造を構成する孔間あるいは外部との間には連通路(穴)の大きさは長径が70nmであった。
体積平均粒径300nmの単分散ポリスチレン微粒子(商品名:エスタポールES−K030、メルク)のエタノール懸濁液にITO基板を浸漬しディップコート法を用いて基板上に最密充填型コロイド結晶を作製した。なお、ここでは基板の引き上げ速度を0.5μm/sとし、コロイド結晶を厚さ10μmで作製した。得られた最密充填型コロイド結晶は構造色(緑)を呈しており、SEMにより表層を(1,1,1)面とした面心立方格子を形成していることが確認できた。

Claims (17)
- 内部に外部と連通し、下記移動性粒子が出入り可能である空隙構造を有し、屈折率の異なる2つ以上の領域が周期的に並べられた周期構造を持つと共に構造色を呈するフォトニクス結晶構造体からなる周期構造体と、
前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置し、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に配置することで前記周期構造体の構造色を変化させる体積平均粒径が1nm〜1μmの移動性粒子と、
を含む、多色表示材料組成物。 - 前記周期構造体が多孔質構造体である、請求項1に記載の多色表示材料組成物。
- 前記周期構造体の素材色が有色である、請求項1に記載の多色表示材料組成物。
- 前記周期構造体の素材色が無色である、請求項1に記載の多色表示材料組成物。
- 前記移動性微粒子が金属ナノ粒子である、請求項1に記載の多色表示材料組成物。
- 前記金属ナノ粒子が、金、銀、酸化チタン、シリカ、及び酸化亜鉛から選択される少なくとも1種の微粒子である、請求項5に記載の多色表示材料組成物。
- 一対の基板と、
前記一対の基板間に備える多色表示材料組成物であって、内部に外部と連通し、下記移動性粒子が出入り可能である空隙構造を有し、屈折率の異なる2つ以上の領域が周期的に並べられた周期構造を持つと共に構造色を呈するフォトニクス結晶構造体からなる周期構造体と、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置し、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に配置することで前記周期構造体の構造色を変化させる体積平均粒径が1nm〜1μmの移動性粒子と、を含む多色表示材料組成物と、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置させるための選択配置手段と、
を有する光学素子。 - 前記周期構造体が多孔質構造体である、請求項7に記載の光学素子。
- 前記周期構造体の素材色が有色である、請求項7に記載の光学素子。
- 前記周期構造体の素材色が無色である、請求項7に記載の光学素子。
- 前記移動性微粒子が金属ナノ粒子である、請求項7に記載の光学素子。
- 前記金属ナノ粒子が、金、銀、酸化チタン、シリカ、及び酸化亜鉛から選択される少なくとも1種の微粒子である、請求項11に記載の光学素子。
- 前記一対の基板のうち一方が有色である、又は有色体を有する、請求項7に記載の光学素子。
- 一対の基板と、
前記一対の基板間に備える多色表示材料組成物であって、内部に外部と連通し、下記移動性粒子が出入り可能である空隙構造を有し、屈折率の異なる2つ以上の領域が周期的に並べられた周期構造を持つと共に構造色を呈するフォトニクス結晶構造体からなる周期構造体と、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置し、前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に配置することで前記周期構造体の構造色を変化させる体積平均粒径が1nm〜1μmの移動性粒子と、を含む多色表示材料組成物と、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部又は外部に選択的に配置させるための選択配置手段と、
を有する光学素子の表示方法であって、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に移動させる内部微粒子移動工程と、
前記移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の外部に移動させる外部微粒子移動工程と、
を有する、光学素子の表示方法。 - 前記移動性微粒子の前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部への存在率の変化によって多色表示を行う、請求項14に記載の光学素子の表示方法。
- 前記移動性微粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部で偏在させて多色表示を行う、請求項14に記載の光学素子の表示方法。
- 前記周期構造体がその構造色が無色である場合、又は移動性粒子を前記周期構造体の前記空隙構造の内部に移動させて前記周期構造体の構造色が無色となる場合、周期構造体の素材色を表示する、請求項14に記載の光学素子の表示方法。
