Abstract

A light conduction system comprises a light source 1 a first or main colour filter 3, a second colour filter 2 between source 1 and filter 3, and an optical fibre bundle light conductor having an input end 4. The second colour filter 2 serves to filter light from the source 1 before the light reaches the main filter 3 so as to minimise light absorption and therefore heating of the main filter 3. Thus, the transmission characteristics of the main filter 3 remain constant in use. One or both of the filters 2 and 3 may be formed of check or thermal reaction colour-glasses. <IMAGE>
