Abstract
1385357 Electric connectors H WOERTZ and O WOERTZ [trading as OSKAR WOERTZ Inh H & O WOERTZ] 21 March 1972 [31 March 1971] 13263/72 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] In a ribbon-cable and connector assembly, the cable 10 comprises a plurality of parallel conductors in one plane contained in an insulating beds 21 having two opposite flat surfaces 22, 23 with asymmetrically disposed grooves 24, 25, and the connector 30 comprises a throughgoing recess 44 having two opposite flat sides with projections 41, 42 for receiving the cable and a plurality of terminals 56 (57-60, Fig. 3, each with a pointed contact screw 61, (62-65 )piercing the cable structure to connect with a respective conductor. The connector comprises an insulating structure 31 engaged in a cover 36 by ribs and grooves 34, 35, 39, 40 to define the recess 44 and which includes a respective cut-out 51, (52-55) for each terminal 56, (57-60), each contact screw 61, (62-65) passing through aligned holes 66, 67 staggered along the direction of the cable in the structure 21 and having its head surrounded by and in frictional contact with a respective collar 71-75. Each terminal includes a second screw 78 for connection to a branch conductor (not shown) received in a hole 76 of the contact. The branch conductors enter as the conductors of one or more cables supported by a screw 83 or gland in throughpassages 82, (84, 85) in a cap 80 secured to the cover 36 by screws (81).
