Abstract

1288798 Washing machines BLACKSTONE CORP 16 Dec 1969 [24 Dec 1968] 61296/69 Heading D1A Means are provided for introducing water between an inner tub 12 and an outer tub 11 in a washing machine having an agitator 13 reciprocable within the perforate inner tub 12 which is concentric with the outer tub 11 which is mounted in a frame 10, means for selectively reciprocating the agitator 13 or rotating the inner tub 12 and means on the frame for removing water from the tubs. Preferably the water is introduced through a vacuum breaker 20 and line 18 to a head 17 which directs the water tangentially onto the outer surface of the inner tube in its direction of rotation during a spin drying operation to break up suds.
