Abstract

1,201,254. Washing machines. BLACKSTONE-CORP 29 Jan., 1969 [1 Aug., 1968], No. 5063/69. Heading D1A. A washing agent dispenser is removably mounted on a washing-machine agitator 11 in the path of a stream of water, e.g..from nozzle 20 and comprises an agitator engaging member 12 within an annular cup 13 for washing agent which is surrounded by an annular filter 14 with an upstanding outer rim 16. The flange 18 of a baffle 17 surrounding rim 16 keeps unit in filter 14 during spinning. In operation, wash agent is placed in cup 13 and rinse agent in a cup 12b and is held against wall 16 until spinning stops when it falls into the tub. In a second embodiment, the rinse agent is forced into an intermediate compartment during the first spin and at the end drops into cup 13. During the second spin, it is spun out as before.
