Robert Bork
Robert Heron Bork (1927-2012) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He was also nominated to the Supreme Court of the United States by Ronald Reagan in 1987, but the Senate rejected this nomination. He passed away on December 19, 2012.[1]
Bork was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on December 7, 1981, to a seat vacated by Carl McGowan; he was confirmed by the Senate on February 8, 1982, and received commission the next day. He resigned on February 5, 1988.[2]
