Description
図1に、本発明の実施の形態である放電灯駆動装置10を示す。放電灯駆動装置10は、電源からの給電により放電灯Lの点灯を制御するものであり、第1の駆動回路20Aと、第2の駆動回路20Bと、電流検出器40と、位相差検出器50と、制御回路60と、からなる。放電灯駆動装置10によって点灯が制御される放電灯Lは、両端にそれぞれ電極E1,E2を有する冷陰極管である。以下の説明において、電圧値、電流値、電力値は、特別に説明するものを除いて実効値を指すものとする。

Claims (1)
- 2つの電極を有する放電灯を駆動する放電灯駆動装置であって、
前記2つの電極のうちの一方の電極に接続されると共に第1の交流電流を供給する第1の駆動回路と、
他方の電極に接続されると共に前記第1の交流電流と略逆位相であって且つ同一周波数の第2の交流電流を供給する第2の駆動回路と、
前記第1及び第2の駆動回路の各々を駆動する第1及び第2の駆動パルスを生成する制御回路と、
前記第1の交流電流及び前記第2の交流電流の各々を検出する電流検出回路と、
を有し、
前記制御回路は、前記電流検出回路で検出された前記第1の交流電流と前記第2の交流電流とを比較し、前記第1及び第2の交流電流のうち大きい方を減少させると共に少ない方を増加させるように前記第1及び第2の駆動パルスの位相差を調整して、前記第1の交流電流の実効値と第2の交流電流の実効値とが一致するように制御することを特徴とする放電灯駆動装置。
