990,093. Anti-dazzle lamps. T. F. HENNELLY. Oct. 27, 1962, No. 40703/62. Heading F4R. A lamp for use e.g. as a vehicle headlamp comprises a hollow casing 1, the inner surface of which is non-reflecting, a light source 2 such as an electric light bulb, a convex lens or lens system 3 at the open end of the casing and an obturating disc 4 between the light source and the lens. The disc 4 subtends the same angle at the light source as is subtended by the lens 3. The inner surface of the casing may be black or may be parabolic in shape, the light source being arranged as close as possible to the surface.
