830,074. Lamps. LACEY, C. L. Nov. 12, 1956 [Nov. 11, 1955], No. 32280/55. Drawings to Specification. Classes 75(2) and 75(4) [Also in Group XXXV] A photographic lighting unit comprises a helical discharge tube with an internal diameter large enough to contain the neck of main voltage filament lamp of say 100 watts mounted in a reflector which may be of parobolic form. The tube and lamp are secured to a movable carrier sliding in the neck of the reflector to vary the lighting angle. A cylindrical diffuser covers. the tube and a supplementary curved reflector is mounted either on the diffuser or the lamp so that the light distribution from both sources is the same. The carrier and lamps may be withdrawn through the neck of the reflector for non-directional lighting.
