664,711. Suction cleaner nozzles. HOOVER, Ltd. June 9, 1949 [June 10, 1948], No. 15382/49. Class 8 (i) A surface cleaning tool for a suction cleaner comprises a body 14 affording two nozzle mouths 16 26 either of which can be brought into use by a valve 36 for connecting either of them alternatively to the suction duct 12, and a retractable feeler 40 projecting from the body beyond the plane of one mouth, say 26 and so connected to the valve 36 that when the mouth 26 engages the floor the feeler 40 will be raised and will operate the valve to apply suction to the mouth 26. The two mouths 16, 26 are located in inclined planes so that either mouth can contact the floor by rocking the suction wand up or down. A brush 50 is secured within the mouth 26.
