Abstract
654,945. Suction nozzles. VAN DER HEEM N. V. May 10, 1947, No. 12718. Convention date, May 10, 1946. [Class 8(i)] A suction cleaner nozzle comprises ar upper part of material, e.g. rubber sufficiently flexible tc allow the suctior tube 1 to be depressed relative to a metal base part 4 having one or more suction openings 5, 6 without impairing surface contact between the base 4 and the surface being cleaned. On depressing the tube 1 an internal rib 7 engages a central raised portion of the base 4 thereby cutting off the opening or row of openings 6. A brush 10 is resiliently mounted so as to be normally off the floor and is brought into engagement by downward pressure on the tube 1.
