Abstract
640,166. Endless conveyers; shoots. FERGUSON, Inc., H. June 26, 1947, No. 16846. Convention date, June 27, 1946. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group I] A tractor drawn hay - loader comprises a wheeled frame 15 carrying an upwardly and rearwardly extending elevator 30 which overhangs the rear end of the frame and discharges laterally on to a further vehicle 12, coupled alongside the wheeled frame, and capable of swinging laterally beneath the overhang of the elevator. The tractor 11 carries a draw-bar 16A to which the frame 15 is coupled, the frame being roughly triangular and having a further connection 62 for the hay-receiving vehicle 12. The loading equipment includes a rotating, tined, cylinder 20 which feeds a slotted apron 27 forming the base of the elevator. Tine-bars 51, extending between endless chains, carry the hay up to a horizontal platform 57, the chains and the cylinder being driven from the wheels 18, 19 of the frame 15. The platform 57 has smoothly-curving walls 58 which deflect the hay laterally through approximately 90 degrees, a pivoted. extension 64 being adjustably mounted at the end of the platform so that the direction of discharge of the hay may be regulated. The angle of inclination of the elevator is adjustable by a screw device 36, 40.
