Abstract

252,877. Sutcliffe, R. L. May 19, 1925. Rollers and roller heads; roving and thread guides.-Grooved pulleys 7 are mounted between the carrier rollers 5, 6 and the front rollers 3, 4 of spinning, doubling, twisting, and like machines, especially for yarns of hair or like springy fibres, so as to conduct the material in a close formation to the front rollers and to facilitate the feeding of the binding-thread 12 when such is used. The grooves of the pulleys are preferably acute and all the pulleys are mounted on a bar which is reciprocated by any known mechanism. Two or more pulleys may be provided for each yarn. The Provisional Specification describes an arrangement wherein the bowls are mounted with their axes vertical.
