Abstract

1,220,607. Injection moulding machines. WERKZEUGBAU FUCHSLOCHER OHG. 20 March, 1968 [13 April, 1967], No. 13472/68. Heading B5A. An injection nozzle 4 has a nozzle valve needle 6 which is movable to open position by pressure of the injected material on a frusto-conical portion 27 and has a cylindrical portion 16 which, during cooling of the moulding material, enters the nozzle orifice and pushes material remaining therein into the mould cavity 13. The valve needle 6 is biased toward closed position by a spring 10, the tension of which can be controlled by means of an adjusting nut 11 or an hydraulic cylinder (not shown). Air pockets 25 or other insulating means between the nozzle head and mould wall 15 divide the nozzle head into a heated zone 20 and a cooled zone 21. The nozzle and needle in the position shown complete the mould surface so that the moulded article is free of sprues and runners.
