Diese letztgenannte Art der Reinigung ist aus der traditionellen Waschung solcher Turbinen außerhalb des Betriebes derselben (unfired) bei reduzierter Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit entstanden ("off-line"). Der Vorteil der "on-line" Reinigung liegt darin, daß die Kompressorenleistung erhalten bzw. verbessert werden kann ohne die Notwendigkeit, die Anlage stillzulegen und abkühlen zu lassen.
