Abstract

Packages for stacks of folded paper tissues (10) consist of very thin plastic films. To facilitate the usage, recently tear-off aids are provided, in particular in the region of a front wall (11) of the cuboid package. For opening and reclosing the package, a tear-off tab (22) is defined by perforation lines (23, 24, 25) in the region of the front wall (11), which tear-off tab can be opened and closed again with the aid of a covering adhesive tab (37). <??>To increase the serviceability of the film package, the tear-off tab (22), bounded by lateral perforations (23, 24) is narrower than the front wall (11), in particular in such a way that a cutout (32) is formed which is sufficient for the removal of a paper tissue (10). Adjoining the perforations of the tear-off tab (22) in the region of one front edge (26) is a transverse perforation (28, 29) which is opened by lifting the front wall of the package. By this means, a removal opening (21) is produced which extends over the full width. <??>In this embodiment of the tear-off aid, a design of the package is advantageous, in which folding flaps of the end wall 16 are separated from one another by punch cuts (43, 44) and can thus be folded in a rectangular shape. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a cuboid film packaging for cellulose products, in particular stacks of paper handkerchiefs, folded from a preferably rectangular blank, with a large front wall, an opposite rear wall, narrower side walls and a narrow, upper end wall or an opposite bottom wall, the end wall and the bottom wall are each formed from a tubular intermediate folding position of the blank by folding tabs that come to lie on one another, and wherein a tear-open flap covering a reclosable removal opening is formed as part of the front wall. In addition to the portrait format described, the invention also relates to packaging of this type in landscape format.

Paper handkerchiefs are usually packaged in thin films to form a film package with a stack of e.g. B. ten paper handkerchiefs. The format of this cuboid film packaging is selected so that a large front and rear wall, smaller, elongated, narrow side surfaces and even smaller, rectangular, upper and lower end faces are created. In the area of these end faces, folding tabs of the film blank, namely longitudinal tabs and side tabs, are usually folded in an envelope-like manner.

Such film packaging is increasingly provided with a reclosable opening aid. The invention is concerned with film packaging of this type. Such a type is shown, for example, in DE-A-3 542 999. Another type of packaging relates to FR-A-2 458 480. There, a cuboid-shaped container made of cardboard or aluminum is provided for holding towels or cans, etc. In the area of a bottom wall there is a tear-open tab which can be separated by perforations and which is completely torn off when first opened. A resealable pull tab is not provided. US-A-4 062 486 also shows a somewhat different packaging, namely a cuboid shape with an opening extending over the entire end wall after the tearing open of a corresponding tab. There is no resealability.

The invention has for its object to improve the design of the above-mentioned film packaging so that a simple removal of the individual handkerchiefs and at the same time good resealability is ensured.

To achieve this object, the film packaging according to the invention is characterized by the following features:
  • a) the tear-open tab is bounded at least laterally by perforation lines, namely side perforations, which run in the direction of an edge formed between the front wall and the front wall,
  • b) the tear-open tab is connected to the end wall for reclosing the removal opening and is covered at least at one end by an adhesive tab with an adhesive-free handle end,
  • c) the side perforations delimiting the tear-open tab end at the edge formed between the front wall and end wall at a distance from packing corners formed between the front wall and end wall,
  • d) from the ends of the side perforations, transverse perforation lines, namely transverse perforations, extend along the front edge to the packaging corners.

The invention is based on the finding that the reclosable tear-open aid must be adapted to the geometrical shape of the contents of the pack, namely to serve to remove the flat, folded paper handkerchiefs. For this purpose, the pull tab is dimensioned so that in the open position a recess is created in the front wall which is sufficient for grasping a paper handkerchief with two fingers (thumb and index finger) in the center. Furthermore, there is a slit-shaped opening at the upper edge of the film packaging, namely in the area of the front edge, which enables the pulling out of each individual handkerchief without constraints.

According to a particularly important feature of the invention, the tear tab is covered over the entire area by the adhesive tab. This makes opening the package particularly easy when the package is in use, as well as reclosing it, since the labile tear-open tab is held over the entire surface by the adhesive tab.

The transverse perforations running along the front edge and adjoining the side perforations of the tear-open tab are severed by lifting or pulling up the end wall with the aid of the adhesive tab, so that the removal opening which extends across the full width of the film packaging is created in one go.

The opening aid according to the invention can also be attached to the package in landscape format. In this case, the side perforations of the tear tab lead to a longitudinal front edge of the package, which is formed between the front wall and a side wall of the package. The transverse perforation lines (transverse perforations) run in the aforementioned longitudinal leading edge up to the assigned corners. The pull tab is very good with this version small (narrow) in relation to the length of the longitudinal front edge, namely in such a way that a handkerchief can be grasped with two fingers in the area of the opened tear-open tab.

Folding flaps adjoin the aforementioned surfaces of the blank to form an upper end wall 16 and an opposite, lower bottom wall. The folding tabs are outer and inner longitudinal tabs 17, 18 in the region of the front wall 11 and rear wall 12. Furthermore, side tabs 19, 20 adjoin the side wall 13 and the interconnected side wall tabs 14, 15. The folding of the end wall 16 and corresponding to the bottom is designed such that, in the case of a tubular intermediate folding position of the blank or packaging, first the side tabs 19, 20 are folded against the contents of the pack and then the inner longitudinal tab 18 and finally the outer longitudinal tab 17. The aforementioned folding tabs are connected to one another by sealing.

The rectangular front wall 11 is provided with a tear-open aid. This is arranged in the upper area, adjacent to the end wall 16.

A tear-open tab 22 is formed in the front wall 11 to form a removal opening 21 for the paper handkerchiefs 10. This extends in the central region of the front wall 11 and is limited by lines of weakness in the film, namely by lines of perforations. The tear tab 22 is laterally bordered by side perforations 23, 24. These extend from a lower, transversely directed connection perforation 25 in the direction of a packaging edge formed between front wall 11 and end wall 16, namely a front edge 26. The side perforations 23, 24 run up to this front edge 26. The connection perforation 25 delimiting the tear-open tab 22 at the bottom can also be designed as a completely or partially continuous die cut.

The side perforations 23, 24 run at a significant distance from the edges of the front wall 11, namely from upright packaging edges 26, 27. In the preferred embodiment of the film packaging, the tear tab 22 has a width which is sufficient after the tear tab 22 has been pulled off Grasp the handkerchief with two fingers (index finger, thumb) and pull it up out of the foil packaging. The width of the tear tab 22 can accordingly be 2 cm to 3 cm.

These extend along the front edge 26 to the end thereof, that is to say to packing corners 30, 31 between the front wall 16 and the front wall 11.

If the tear-open tab 22 is separated from the front wall 11 and then the transverse perforations 28, 29 are severed, a removal opening 21 extending over the full width of the film packaging or the front wall 11 is exposed. With the help of a preferably central recess 32 in the front wall 11, the front paper handkerchief 10 can now be grasped and pulled upward without constraint.

To enlarge the removal opening 21, the transverse perforations 28, 29 can be followed by corner perforations 33, 34, which run along side edges 35, 36 between the end wall 16 and the side wall 13 or side wall tabs 14, 15 runs. The corner perforations 33, 34 have only a small length.

The tear-open tab 22 is covered in the closed position of the packaging (FIG. 1) by an adhesive strip or an adhesive tab 37. This consists of a preferably thicker film material and is provided with an adhesive over the entire surface on the side facing the pack. The adhesive tab 37 completely covers the tear-open tab 22, which is connected to the adhesive tab 37 over the entire surface. In the area of the front wall 11, the adhesive flap 37 forms a lower, adhesive-free handle end 38. With this, the adhesive flap 37 can be gripped and handled.

The adhesive tab 37 is dimensioned such that it protrudes laterally and below the tear tab 22. With side strips 39, 40 and a transverse strip 41, the adhesive tab 37 is connected along a U-shaped adhesive contour (FIG. 2) to the front wall 26 outside the area of the tear-open tab 22. Furthermore, the adhesive tab 37 extends with a sufficiently dimensioned leg 42 into the end wall 16. The leg 42 is connected to the outer longitudinal tab 17 by full-area gluing.

When the handle end 38 is grasped and the adhesive tab 37 is pulled, it is pulled off the front wall 11 in the region of the transverse strip 41 and the side strips 39, 40. The full-surface connection of the tear tab 22 with the adhesive tab 37 causes it to be torn out of the perforation connection with the front wall 11. The adhesive tab 37 can be moved with the tear tab 22 into an upright or pivoted-back position (FIG. 2), as a result of which the recess 32 is free. By further pulling the adhesive tab 37, the removal opening 21 is then cleared by separating the transverse perforations 28, 29 by lifting the end wall 16.

The packaging can be resealed by pivoting the adhesive tab 37 back into the starting position according to FIG. 1. The tear-open tab 22 returns to the position according to FIG. 1 within the recess 32. The adhesive tab 39 is again through the side strips 39, 40 and the transverse strips 41 connected to the front wall 11.

The exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 to 6 differs from the one described by the design of the end wall 16. The folding tabs of the end wall 16 (and the bottom wall) are separated from one another by punch cuts 43 and 44. When folded, the longitudinal tabs 17, 18 are therefore not trapezoidal as in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 3, but rectangular. As can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, the longitudinal tabs 17, 18 in this exemplary embodiment extend over the full length of the end wall 16. In this embodiment, particularly advantageous gluing or sealing of the folding tabs in the region of the end wall 16 is possible, as a result of which the opening process is facilitated for the pack. The blank according to FIG. 6 also has manufacturing advantages.

A tear tab 45 is also arranged here in the region of the front wall 11, but extends in the direction of a longitudinal front edge 46 which runs between the (closed) side wall 13 and the front wall 11. Side perforations 47, 48 of the tear-open tab 45 merge into transverse perforations 49, 50, which run along the longitudinal front edge 46, up to packing corners 31 and 51 at the ends of the longitudinal front edge 46. The tear-open tab 45 is relatively narrow - compared to the longitudinal dimension of the Front wall 11. The side perforations 47, 48 are arranged with a slight inclination to one another, which diverges to the longitudinal leading edge 46, so that the tear-open tab 45 is approximately V-shaped. The lower ends of the side perforations 47, 48, which lie away from the longitudinal front edge 46, are connected to one another by a connection perforation 52. The transitions between the different perforations are rounded, which makes the opening process easier. The width of the tear-open tab 45 is dimensioned such that a paper handkerchief 10 can be grasped in a central region at the edge with two fingers.

The tear tab 45 is covered by an appropriately dimensioned, rectangular adhesive tab 53. The adhesive tab 53 is dimensioned in width and length such that the tear tab 45 is located completely within the area covered by the adhesive tab 53. Lateral projections of the adhesive tab 53 next to the tear tab 45 are connected to the front wall 11. A leg 54 extends into the side wall 13 adjoining the front wall. Otherwise, the adhesive tab 53 is configured as in the exemplary embodiments described.

The cut for this packaging corresponds to that of the previous exemplary embodiments. As can be seen, the tear-open aid is located in the region of the closed side wall 13 which extends approximately in the middle of the blank.

Seitenperforationen 58, 59 zur Begrenzung der Aufreißlasche 55 sind stärker divergierend zueinander angeordnet.FIG. 9 shows a modification of the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8. A tear-open tab 55 in the area of the front wall 11 is dimensioned relatively large and extends over the longer area of the front wall 11 or the longitudinal front edge 46 Area of the longitudinal leading edge 46 is relatively short. Side perforations 58, 59 to limit the tear tab 55 are arranged to be more divergent from each other.

In this embodiment of the packaging, a larger opening is exposed in the area of the front wall 11. The tear tab 55 is only partially covered by an adhesive tab 60 which extends exclusively in the region of the front wall 11.
