Aren't these features already being included in meeting platforms like Meet, Teams, Zoom and so on with much wider platform integration? At $18/m per business user wanting to take notes for Meet calls this is $2 away from the cost of Gemini across the entire Workspace platform. What's the incentive to spin up yet another 3rd party per employee subscription for a specific AI tool per app if not price?

Thanks for your thoughts! The competition is tough, but the key lies in the quality of the services provided. Right now, very few options can deliver human-level accuracy in transcripts and meeting minutes, and most apps are clumsy and overly complex. We're determined to change that for our users.

but then I looked at their pricing, and I have no idea what it actually costs..
and this FAQ answer still has me wondering what it costs-
"What is counted as a seat?
Any teammate you added in your Fireflies workspace would be counted as a seat. If you are on paid plan then you would be charged on per seat basis. Teammates are invited from team invite panel. You can share individual meeting recap links with participants or other users without adding them in your team free of charge."
So F-it - I'll just record and then transcribe with any one of the several local programs I already have on my local machine.
You can decide whether the meeting minutes and records are available to all participants or only to those you choose to share them with. Access and storage are necessary to keep the records, transcripts, and meeting minutes of the calls. This information will be used to train your personal digital avatar only with your consent.
It's entirely your choice whether you want to use pen and paper or take advantage of AI meeting assistants like MinutesLink.

Ease of use and accuracy in transcripts and meeting minutes for one. Moreover, with the user's consent, we will leverage the data from meeting behavior patterns to create a personalized digital avatar. This AI clone will be able to autonomously manage specific tasks and engage in conversations on behalf of the user.
Most people don't even know or think about this. When people join a meeting I host and invite their robot, I kick the robot out. Otherwise, I'm just not sure they are actually engaged in the meeting. If you don't want to be on the meeting, decline it. But don't assume it's cool to record everything. Some of us work in industries (legal being one) where you don't want to create recordings, especially of privileged discussions.
Thanks for your opinion! You can always decide if you want the meeting to be recorded or not. The tool is useful in some use cases, however, you're right, some conversations should not be recorded.
