Marking draft to wrap up a few more things:

• need to write up an announcement for the change in:
  • adapters: if session is user-supplied, do not overwrite session options with Client/Adapter options #1021
  • Announcement: Breaking changes coming to Adapters' use of custom sessions #1040
• need to fix this issue with the markdown -> RST conversion in the changelog for duplicate issue references
