The Maryland Superintendent of Schools is a position in the Maryland state government. The superintendent is selected by the State Board of Education for a renewable four-year term and serves as secretary-treasurer to the board. Duties
The superintendent directs the State Department Of Education and executes policy and regulations put forth by the Board of Education.[3] The superintendent also directly oversees the Division of Library Development and Services and the Division of Rehabilitation Services.
