White-Maned Lynels are a white and black-colored variant of Lynels. They have existed in Hyrule since ancient times, though few witnesses of this breed survive to tell the tale.[4] Like other Lynels, they will often refrain from attacking for a short period of time after spotting Link, instead opting to stare him down. However, they start their battle by roaring out loudly and slamming their Weapon down to causing a fiery explosion around them.
Being a higher tier variant from the Blue-Maned Lynels, they are known to carry a stronger set of "Savage" Lynel Gear, which includes the Savage Lynel Sword, Savage Lynel Shield, Savage Lynel Bow, Savage Lynel Spear, and Savage Lynel Crusher. In Master Mode, White-Maned Lynels carry "Mighty" Lynel gear. However, the White-Maned Lynel that appears on the Great Plateau carries a Savage Lynel Crusher and Savage Lynel Bow.
At the beginning of Link's eighth Recovered Memory, "A Premonition," several defeated White-Maned Lynels and Bokoblins are shown.

These fearsome monsters have lived in Hyrule since ancient times. Their ability to breathe fire makes White-Maned Lynels among the toughest of the species; each one of their attacks is an invitation to the grave. There are so few eyewitness accounts of this breed because a White-Maned Lynel is not one to let even simple passersby escape with their lives.
