Resealing the instrument back together? When I originally got it, it was just sealed using electrical tape. Epoxy would probably work well, or hot glue.
Edit: My guess though is that there's probably an official material to use. I'm guessing a local instrument shop may be able to provide better guidance.
Sounds like you don't have a proper power supply. Please review the "Hardware Hookup" section of the tutorial where it discusses powering your Easy Driver, and make sure the supply you choose falls within the following specs: |verify that whatever choice you go with is capable of providing up to 2A and falls in the range of 6V to 30V.
If you're still having troubles after that, please reach out to [email protected]. They'll be able to assist you further.
Sadly, she no longer works here at SparkFun. That being said, it looks like there may be a few model 668s for sale specifically for parting out - maybe one of those will work for you?
Some troubleshooting tips:
1) Double check your board/port selections in Arduino
2) Double check your USB cable/try a different cable
3) Try a different FTDI board (assuming you are using one).
4) Double check that your board enumerates when you plug it in
5) Double check what particular driver you are using (looks like there's potentially a conflict with OS Sierra native drivers and downloaded drivers from this Arduino forum post.)
6) Email tech support with information about the specific board you are using (and where you purchased it), the version of Arduino, the info that you're on Mac OS Sierra, and specific troubleshooting steps you've taken. The more detailed you can be, the more helpful they can be.

Hey Rob - I've never tried to tune it myself, but from a quick search, it looks like you may need to file the reeds? Check out this link.
You got it! Best of luck hacking :)
Please take a look at the schematic for the CAN shield. You're getting intermittent behavior because the CAN shield also uses pins 2 and 7. As far as power requirements, you should look at the current draw for your particular shield, and verify which pins it is pulling power from.
Thanks for the shout out - we really appreciate it!
