X-Men: First Class (2011)
March 9, 2014
Rewatched (DVD)
X-Men: First Class is an excellent example of what origin stories (and/or prequels) should be. It is also a strong character driven story that pulls the audience in.
I'm looking forward to the next installment, X-Men: Days of Future Past, that will be released on May 23, 2014.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
March 9, 2014
Rewatched (DVD)
One of my favorite characters in the X-Men universe is Wolverine. He's tough, can heal quickly, and is a good leader.
While a lot of fans want to pretend this movie never existed, I thought it wasn't so bad. Granted, there are parts of it that I didn't care for either, but overall it was entertaining for me.
I plan on checking out The Wolverine soon so I can compare the two.

The Hustler (1961)
March 10, 2014
1st viewing: Watched on DirecTV (Movie saved on DVR)
The Hustler is a movie that I have been wanting to see for some time so I was glad when the opportunity presented itself. The first 1/3 of the movie was great, especially when they were playing pool. Outside of the pool hall, however, the story fell apart for me. It slowed to a crawl and never seem to get going again. I know others will disagree and I respect that, but that is my opinion.

The Color of Money (1986)
March 11, 2014
Rewatched (DVD)
A sequel to The Hustler, The Color of Money continues the story of Fast Eddie Felson (Paul Newman). He teams up with a young pool hustler (played by Tom Cruise) to make a lot of money playing pool.
Newman and Cruise work great together and make the movie entertaining and fun to watch.

Planes (2013)
March 15, 2014
1st viewing: Watched on DirecTV (Movie saved on DVR)
Since I am a fan of Cars and Cars 2, I thought I would like Planes just as much. Unfortunately I didn't.
Planes felt too much like an extension of the Cars movies without it having its own original concept. Basically, the film makers substituted planes racing for cars racing without adding anything that was memorable.
