She rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Hole in the 90s.

And Courtney Love channeled her inner rock chick as she attended the Gucci Guilty Launch Party at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles on Friday night. 

The 54-year-old Hole singer ensured she turned heads in an ornate purple baroque coat and a chic LBD.

Letting her statement coat do all the talking, she added height with a stylish pair of bejewelled T-bar heels.

The queen of accessories completed her look with a black leather bag and several chunky rings. 

Styling her golden tresses in her trademark tousled bob, she framed her features with minimal make-up.

In her youth, the American born beauty married James Moreland in a Las Vegas ceremony, only later to claim he was a transvestite saying their marriage was a 'joke'.

Despite their marital union in 1989, the pair went their separate ways just months later after she received an annulment for the marriage.

Courtney's most headline-gripping romance saw her fall head-over-heels for Kurt Cobain and after months of dating, the pair were married on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.

Six months after the 1992 ceremony, the couple welcomed their only child and daughter Frances Bean Cobain into the world.

The Nirvana frontman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their Seattle home back in April 1994.

Courtney has since dated a number of men but she hasn't ever remarried since the death of her second husband.

In February, she paid tribute to her late husband on what would have been his 51st birthday when she freely expressed how much she missed him. She wrote: 'God I miss you.'
