International Clusters Cooperation offers opportunities to scale-up research and technological potential, enhance competitiveness, support the regional socio-economic development and reinforce the market placement of new and innovative products. These cooperation approaches often fail due to constraints on resources, capabilities, instruments and funding. On the other hand, over 2.000 Clusters only in the European Union covering all sectors and able to realize an inter-sectorial framework, as well as related clusters and networks in the southern Mediterranean countries, form a great potential for transnational clustering. The ClusDevMed Project – Clusters Development–aims tocreate the condition for the reinforcement of the existing clusters in the Mediterranean Area, with the support of other EU expertise and policies, and with the aim to bridge the distance among different stakeholders with the same objectives, and to find a way to create a common approach to solve the food-water-energy nexus. The project is funded by the European Union under Horizon 2020 Programme, MarieSkłodowska-Curie Actions under the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange scheme (RISE). ClusDevMed priority topics are: Agribusiness, agro food, food security – Energy – Water Core. ClusDev areas of Interest: e-Learning, Educational Technology, Green Technology, affordable and healthy food, energy efficiency and renewable energy, water reuse and wastewater treatment.
