So.... Sea Spray simultaneously represents a movie-verse version of the character and the classic G1 character? Or am I reading the answer wrong? --Detour 23:10, 31 March 2010 (EDT)

I read it as a (possibly deliberate) complete non-answer, as it speaks to "design philosophy," which, uh, wasn't what the question was asking. --KilMichaelMcC 23:16, 31 March 2010 (EDT)
SO FUCKING FRUSTRATING --ItsWalky 23:21, 31 March 2010 (EDT)
That's not even an answer to the question, this is so dissapointing---ACIDSTORM92 01:09, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
I think it's GOT to be intentional. IE. they've realized that tying certain toys to the Movie limits their popularity with certain groups and since they don't have any major media involving these guys WHY NOT be purposly vague about it. They don't have any real reason to tie this toy to any one Universe/Story and they know they'll draw in more fans by keeping it open. --76.28.76.206 05:34, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
To me it reads at the G1 character. They're continuing from Classics and there were no movie characters in Classics. However, it seems we're never going to know about those other Constructicons. --Bluestreak7 09:34, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
Or they mean something different from what we mean by "character". Just look at the Transformers Hall of Fame page. They apparently consider Optimus Prime as a singular character. They may not make a distinction between Seaspray (G1) and Sea Spray (ROTF), to them it may all just be Seaspray. Khajidha 11:10, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
Yeah, that little "problem" in mind is why I worded the question the way I did. ...even though they didn't answer the question the way I asked it. Grargh! --ItsWalky 11:12, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
I think the reason they're being so cagey about this is the same reason they changed the toyline name to just "Transformers." So he's just a Transformers toy, he's an update of one of your favorite characters, you play with him how you like. They seem to be against penning their toys into a single continuity of late.--RosicrucianTalk 11:18, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
Heck, I do that with my toys anyway! Repurposing rules! Once it's out of the box, they can't force you to call it anything. Khajidha 11:20, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
So that means Fracture is totally Crasher? We should ask that judging from how Hasbro answers this questions.---ACIDSTORM92 16:56, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
If it's any answer, then it's an answer in favor of him being G1 Seaspray. But its answerness is rather debatable. --Andrusi, logged out
