SETH A. MELASKY, OF TAYLOR, TEXAS.
OVERALLS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 2, 1909.
Application filed October A, 1907. Serial No. 395,860.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SETH A. MELAsKY, a citizen of the United States, residing at iaylor, in the county of Williamson and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Overalls, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in overalls, and the object is to provide an apron whereby the front of the shirt or coat of the wearer is protected and when desired the apron may be removed.
Another object is to provide means for additionally securing the apron and overalls together.
The invention relates to certain novel features of construction and combination of parts which will be hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a front view of the overalls, and Fig. 2 is a rear view.
A represents the overalls and B is the apron which extends around the front portion of the overalls and is secured to the waist band thereof by means of buttons 1, 1 and button holes 2, 2 formed in the band 3 of the apron.
The usual straps l, 4 are connected to the overalls at the rear and are connected to the apron at the top by the straps passing over the shoulders of the wearer. Loop straps 5, 5 are placed on the overalls along the Waist line, and similar loop straps 6, 6 are placed on the apron along the bottom. These loop straps receive the belt 7 thereby aflording additional securing means for holding the apron and overalls together and also affording means whereby the overalls can be secured tighter around the waist by the wearer as is often desired. When the apron is not used the belt can be passed through'the loop straps in front of the overalls thereby affording a supporting means therefor.
It will be seen from the foregoing that I have provided an apron that can be used with different kinds of overalls and which will be readily attached thereto and also providing means whereby the apron and overalls can be held tightly at the waist of the wearer.
It is evident that slight changes might be made in the form and arrangement of the several parts described without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, and hence I do not desire to limit myself to the exact construction herein set forth, but:
Having fully described my invention and what I desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
The combination with a pair of overalls, of an apron detachably connected to the upper edge thereof, suspenders detachably connected to the overalls and apron, belt straps on the upper edge of the overalls and the lower edge of the apron, and a belt adapted to pass through said straps.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SETH A. MELASKY. Witnesses:
J. H. TURNER, Jr., 0. F. BOADES.
