2 Claims.
My invention relates to undergarments and more particularly to improvements in combination lingerie, the primary object in View being to provide a unitary lingerie set including a slip and so-called undies and a brassire which can be easily put on and fastened so as to facilitate dressing and undressing.
Another object is to provide such a garment embodying a brassire, a skirt, and underdrawers, all substantially in one piece and equipped with a single slide fastener for closing the saine.
Other objects are to provide a garment of the type and for the purpose above set forth which may be worn with comfort and is inexpensive to manufacture.
To the accomplishment of the above, and subordinate objects presently appearing, a preferred embodiment of my invention has been illustrated in the accompanying drawings, set forth in detail in the succeeding description and defined in f the claims appended hereto.
In said drawings:
Figure 1 is a View in front elevation of a preferred embodiment of my invention,
Figure 2 is a view in rear elevation, and
Figure 3 is a view in front elevation with the garment open and drawn to an enlarged scale.
Referring to the drawings by numerals, my improved garment comprises a slip including a skirt I and bodice 3, the bodice 3 being formed of a back panel 4 and a pair of side and front forming panels 5 attached, as at 6, to the side edges of the back panel 4 and having front edges 1 adapted to be secured together in the front of the garment.
The skirt I is stitched at the waist, as at 2, to the lower edges of the back and side panels 4, 5, of the bodice. The underdrawers 9 are attached at the upper edge thereof to the lower edge of the bodice panels 4, 5, and to the waist of the skirt I by the stitches 2 and may be of any desired style, but are preferably full and have a back seam Ill. The skirt I and underdrawers 9 are split in front for a suitable distance down and the edges of the split of the underdrawers are suitably attached as by stitching, not shown, to the edges of the split of the skirt, the attached edges designated II being aligned with the front edges 1 of the bodice 3, respectively. The top edge of the back and the top edges of the side panels 4, 5, of the bodice 3 are hemmed as at I2.
. A pair of substantially oblate, dished brassire flaps I3 are attached at front ends thereof,
iii
as by stitches I4, to the front edges I of the side panels 5 at the proper height to cover the breasts and so as to extend oppositely from said edges in floating position.
A pair of upper and lower elastic straps I5, I6, connect the rear ends of the brassire flaps I3 across the back of the wearer. A pair of shoulder straps I'I are suitably connected at rear ends thereof to the back panel 4 of bodice 3 upon opposite sides of the vertical center of the latter, respectively. The front ends of the shoulder straps II are connected by slide buckles I8 to the center of loop straps I3. The loop straps I9 are each connected at their ends, by stitches 20, to the top edges of the appropriate side panel 5 and related brassire flap yI3 in the center of said panel and flap.
As will be apparent, the attached edges II of the skirt I and underdrawers 9 together with the front edges of the side panels 5 define a single front opening in the garment.
Zipper slide fasteners 2| are secured in the usual manner to opposite sides of the described opening, which is to say, along the attached edges II and front edges 1, with the usual slide 22 for closing said fasteners and opening.
By virtue of the described garment structure, all that is necessary to put on the same is to slip into the underdrawers 9, insert the arms through the shoulder straps I'I and pull the slide fasteners 22 upwardly and the garment is fastened in place. The brassire flaps I3 may be adjusted tight or loose upwardly by means of the slide buckles I8. As will be obvious, the garment m-ay be as easily taken off as put on.
The foregoing will, it is believed, suflice to impart a clear understanding of my invention without further explanation.
Manifestly the invention, as described, is sus-- ceptible of modification without departing from the inventive concept and right is herein reserved to such modications as fall within the scope of the subjoined claims.
What I claim is:
l. A lingerie set comprising a slip including a bodice opening in front and provided with front edges, a skirt stitched at the waist edge to the lower edge of said bodice, a pair of underdrawers attached at the waist edge thereof to said waist edge of the skirt, said skirt and drawers opening in front part way down and having the edges of the openings thereof attached together and the attached edges aligned with the front edges of said bodice to form a single opening in the lfront of said garment, slide fasteners extending along said attached edges and the front edges of the bodice and forming a single closure means for said opening, a pair of elongated brassire iiaps in said bodice having front ends stitched to said front edges of the bodice, respectively, the remainder of said flaps being free, and a pair of elastic upper and lower back straps connecting the rear ends of said aps.
2. A lingerie set comprising a slip including a bodice opening in front and provided with front edges, a skirt stitched at the waist edge to the lower edge of said bodice, a pair of underdrawers attached at the waist edge thereof to said waist edge of the skirt, said skirt and drawers opening in front part way down and having the edges of the openings thereof attached together and the attached edges aligned with the front edges of said bodice to form a single opening in the front of said garment, slide fasteners extending along said attached edges and the front edges of the bodice and forming a single closure means for said opening, a pair of elongated brassire flaps in said bodice having front ends stitched to said front edges of the bodice, respectively, the remainder of said flaps being free, a pair of elastic' upper and lower back straps connecting the rear ends of said flaps, and a pair of shoulder straps having rear ends secured to the top edge of the bodice in the back thereof and front end loops having a pair of terminals, the terminals of each loop being secured to the top edge of one of said flaps and the top edge of the bodice in the front of the latter.
