A device for supporting articles fromeither horizontal or vertical supports comprising a pivotally mounted arm including a jaw adapted to grip a support, a member pivotally connected to said arm, a clamp through which said member is slidable, and a substantially U-shaped bracket pivotally connected to said clamp so as to be movable in a plane at rightangles to the direction of movement of said member through said bracket, said bracket and said jaw being adapted to be disposed at opposite sides of a vertical or horizontal recess, said arm having an article receiving slottherein at the end opposite said jaw.
