To aZZ whom it may concern Be it known that we, FRnoRIoK C. PALosKY and SIMON ZIMMERMANN, citizens of the United States, residing at Pontiac, in the county of Oakland and State of Miclngan, have invented certain new and useful Inn provements in Curtain and Shade Fixtures, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to curtain and shade fixtures and particularly to a fixture adapted to support a curtain as well as a window shade.

An object of the invention is to provide a device of this character capable of being applied to the inner edge of the window st1le to support one or more curtain rods and a window shade roller.

Another object is to provide a device of this character which is stamped from a sheet of material to provide curtain supporting hooks and having one portion thereof offset to properly support the shade roller between the window stiles without causing the pintles of the roller to engage said stiles.

Another object is to provide a device of this character consisting of a metal blank, one side of which is intended to engage the inner edge of the stile of the window and secured thereto, the marginal edge of one side of the blank projecting beyond the stile and formed into hooks to support a curtain rod.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the improved construction and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more particularly described, fully claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a fragmentary vertlcal elevation of a window casing showing the fixtures applied,

posed in spaced parallel relation to the longltudlnal edge 8 and in alinement with the hook 7. It will be noted that a substantially square recess 11 is formed between the hook 10 and the longitudinal edge 8, so as to permit a rod of any desired form either rectangular or circular to'be readily positioned either between the hook and edge of the plate, or in engagement with the hook.

In order to properly support the shade roller, the end portion 12 is separated from the blank 5 by means of a slit 13 which extends laterally of the blank and terminates adjacent the longitudinal edge 8 thereof. The longitudinaledge 14 and intermediate portion 15 of the end 12, is extended in right angular relation to the blank adjacent the longitudinal edge 8 and then extended in spaced parallel relation to the blank 5 to provide a bearing 16, a slot 17 being provided for the reception of one of the pintles of a shade roller. By this novel arrangement, it will be noted that the bearing member 16is disposed in offset relation withrespect to the longitudinal edge 8 of the blank. Two of the above members are intended to be used on a window, each member being similar in construction with the exception that the bearing member 16 of one member is provided with a slot for the reception of the rectangular pintle of the shade roller while the bearing member 16 of the other member is provided with an opening 18 for the reception of the circular pintle on the other end of the roller.

In use, the side surface of the blank 5 is disposed in engagement with the inner upper edge of one of the stiles and so positioned that the hooks 7 and 10 project beyond the outer surface of the stiles. Fastening means are then passed through the openings 19 so as to firmly secure the blank to the stile. The bearing member 16 of the device is positioned inwardly of the window so as to provide a pocket through the cooperation of the inner edge of the stile and thereby prevent contact of the pintles of the shade rollers with the inner edge of the stile.

An important feature of this device is to the stile, it being impossible for the Weight of the curtain rods, curtains and shade roller to pry the bracket from its position in view of the above. In addition to this, the brackets are rendered almost invisible as they are formed from a blank, and

only the side edge and end portion of the bearing 16 can be seen When the device is in position, the curtains rendering the rest of 10 the device invisible. Furthermore, it eliminates the necessity of marring the outer surface of the stiles or frame of the Window and will remain in position indefinitely. It Will be noted that its construction permits either a round curtain pole, or a flat curtain pole to be used.

What is claimed is p As an article of manufacture, a curtain and shade fixture consisting of an elongated blank of material having spaced extensions projecting from one longitudinal edge of the blank in the plane of said blank, said extensions including hooks, said hooks being disposed in spaced parallel relation to said longitudinal edges of the blank, a portion of one end of said blank being offset laterally with respect to said longitudinal edge of the blank, said offset portion terminating in a plane parallel to theplane of the opposite longitudinal edge of the blank and having an aperture adapted to receive the pintle of a curtain roller.
