Abstract

For the production of large-dimension insulation boards, for flat or angled roofs, a fiber material is used for the boards and especially mineral fibers and particularly derived from silicate melting of rock wool. The fibers are impregnated with a bonding agent, and carried through a press for longitudinal and lateral compression, and hardened in a kiln and cut into boards with an over-dimension of 3-25 mm and preferably 3-10 mm. The insulation boards (1) are aligned accurately on a conveyor, in a longitudinal and lateral orientation, for the edges to be trimmed and/or calibrated by at least two millers (11) and the like, while pressure belts (14) bear against the outer surfaces (2) on both sides. After machining the longitudinal sides (5), the board is rotated by 90[deg] for the lateral sides (4) to be cut.
