Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device which consists of a sealing box for enclosing a coagulated area of a plating metal, a gas wiping nozzle for controlling the quantity of plating in this box, and a contained gas feed quantity control means, etc., and is capable of controlling the plating quantity or O2 concentration in the atmosphere in which adhering zinc is not coagulated yet. CONSTITUTION:While a plating metal of a strip 1 onto which the plating metal has been made to adhere in a hot-dipping bath 4 is coagulated (1L), it is made to pass through in a sealing box 2a. Subsequently, when said strip is passing through in this box 2, inert gas is jetted onto the strip 1L surface from a wiping nozzle 7, and the plating quantity of the plating metal is controlled, but in this case, O2 concentration in the box 2a until the plating metal is coagulated from the surface of the bath 4 is controlled to 50-1,000ppm. Also, as necessary, a sealing box 2b is provided for a strip 1S on which the plating metal is being coagulated, in the same way. As a result, it is possible to prevent such accidents as adhesion of dross to the strip 1, or clogging of the nozzle 7 due to a splash phenomenon of the plating metal, or the like.
