Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of elements down to a half and to improve the picture quality for a TV camera using an image sensor, by adding the adjacent signals of the same color in case the charge transfer is carried out by the clock pulse of a series and a conversion is given to a synchronous signal. CONSTITUTION:The same electrode train is used in both odd and even fields of an image pickup element, and R, G and B are arranged in that order. The line sequential signal is transferred to an input terminal 28 by the clock pulse of a series to be applied to a switch 36 connected with a ring counter 35 via 1H delaying circuits 29, 30 and 31, an odd-even field switch 32, a switch 33 and an adder 35 respectively. In an odd field, the signal change-over circuit 33 selects the signal of the terminal 28 and applies it to the adder 34; while the signal of the circuit 31 is selected in an even field. Accordingly for the output of the circuit 34, a signal is delivered as it is in the odd field and the additive average of the adjacent signals of the same color is delivered in the even field respectively. The circuit 36 converts the simultaneous signals of R, G and B respectively. In such a way, the picture quality is improved.
